More musings...

Hi Guys,

I know it has been a while since I last posted, way to long in fact. Over the months since my last post I have been agonizing over what I should do with a business that is struggling with the current economic downturn. Last week I finally decided that the end of the financial would be a good time to pull the pin and move on to some other project somewhere else. It was fun while it lasted, working for yourself is a fantastic albeit lonely existence.
So what does the future hold? the answer to that question is that i'm not entirely sure. I would like to stay working within the tourism industry but where that takes me your guess is as good as mine... Tasmania is looking good at the moment, somewhere in the sticks, maybe down south somewhere where i can pick up my backpack and walk out the backdoor for a week or two in the wilderness.
ANyway will keep you posted... I promise... I do...

Heart felt sorrow

I along with many over the last few days have felt numb at the catastrophe that struck around Melbourne on 7.2.9 the day will be remembered forever. If something positive is to come out of this great sorrow it is the amazing community spirit to spring forth to help out our fellow Australians. May it continue.

To all those that suffered you have my deepest sympathies.

December Musing...

Did you know that musing means to waste time in old english... The word sums me up pretty well, I have always had a talent for wasting time.

G'day everyone,

I will start with a bit of a rant and let me start by saying I like to think that I am a very patient and courteous driver, however I want to complain about the idiots driving on Melbourne's roads. I have noticed over the last few weeks in particular (not to sure why, perhaps the warmer weather who knows) how many nobs there are driving many of whom if they keep up their good form will be temporary residents of this world. I have had the privilege of watching people cut other people off almost causing accidents, other people block lanes of traffic just because they want to do a right hand turn, I witnessed two cars going over 100 km in 80 km zones weaving in and out of traffic. Im thinking of late that I should be getting off the road altogether, I can certainly understand why road rage occurs...

Anyhow gotta fly... more wisdom coming soon...

cheers

G'day all

Well I haven't posted for a while so I know you all must be dying to hear some pearls of wisdom, so hear goes.

With the Olympics on, the footy in the business end of the season and politics on the back burner (at least in Australia) there is plenty to chat about it is hard to know where to start.

On the Olympics... In the weeks leading up to the game I swore to myself I would not watch any for any number of reasons that include Tibet, human rights, drug cheating, capitalism, channel 7, Bruce McAveny etc etc etc. However like always i succumbed to the specter of siting in front of the idiot box for hours on end watching mind (mostly) numbing events such as soccer, basketball, Judo, Tennis (why these events are Olympic sports I will never know) when I should be doing something constructive. For some reason though it just sucks you in. While the vast majority of what I have seen has been crap there have been some excellent sporting highlights starting with Michael Phelps 5 golds 5 world records, what a freak, will be a huge story if the guy tests positive. Unfortunately for me (and sports in general) that is my first thought when I see these sort of performances, I for one though hope it doesn't occur. My favorite  highlight so far was a guy for Togo winning his counties first ever medal in the Kayaking upon finishing the guy was so rapt with the bronze he celebrated by breaking his orr over the kayak.

On to footy, the good old Saints have been true to form over the last few weeks with a possible top 4 spot on the line and the imminent retirement of the clubs greatest ever player Robert Harvey, the footy team trips (or should i say chokes) of at the last hurdle. Its like groundhog day all over again for third year in a row, if their was a award for the leagues best underachievers the Saints would win hands down. I have said it before and will say it again the saints will have to find themselves a new coach someone who has the ability to inspire. While we are not of the race for the finals from what I have seen we will only be making up numbers.

On to Politics... I heard talk this week the government lowering the excise on fuel I would hope that they wont be that stupid. It is a very short term solution to a long term problem.

My Friday Fwit goes this week to the Saints not only did they fail to capitalise on a depleted pies footy team, but they didn't give anything.... very frustrating and disappointing.
oh I forgot we have joint winners this week
Didak and Shaw from the pies are also ff's for people who earn 300,000 per year they still drink and drive, get a fucking taxi you morons..

cheers

Hi guys

I know i know I've been a bit slack over the last few months, sue me I've been a bit busy.  I've been crook (spent 4 days in bed, very unusual for me), been running a few tours (july my busiest month yet) and I've been trying to get the new BBT website together. My advice to anyone trying to put together a website don't use Freeway it is a crappy program.
The good news is though I will try to post a bit more often, though I dont know about posting the ff anymore because it means watching to much depressing news which involves stupid people doing some pretty stupid things.
Anyhow I better head off and do some work before I head off to watch the Saints hopeful seal their place in the top eight, though I dont hold out much hope of us progressing to far into the final series. All depends on turns up each quarter...

Have a great week folks...

That time of the week again....

Man, the weeks a spinning by so quickly at the moment i am getting dizzy...
As i sit here in my small little enclosure tapping away at the keyboard it is a beautiful day outside Melbourne ( not a cloud in sight, though very cold), i wonder about all the tools in the world and how much oxygen they must collectively waste? This week again has provided a plethora of these individuals to choose from ranging from pollies to journo's from coaches to idiot P platers.

This week first FF (sorry OT) nomination goes to my favourite Oxygen Thief Archbishop Andrew Neocon Bolta preacher to the far right and hater of anyone that doesn't pray at his alter. This week he has had a go at just about everyone who is not as far right as he. For this he receives an OT (this is the FF predecessor) of the week nomination.

Another OT nomination goes to my favourite coach Mr Lyon for doing his utmost to make sure St Kilda do not make any sort of finals appearance. Way to go in the second quarter of last weeks collingwood game with the saints playing well in attack and then you order the team to start flooding (apologies to those that don't follow AFL), letting them back into the game.

Third OT nomination this week goes to the knob P plate driver I spotted in his hotted up commodore  doing over a 100km in a 80km zone of dandenong road. I spotted another P plate driver in Oakleigh driving another commodore with his seat reclined back far enough that he could barely see over the steering wheel let alone reach the damn thing. So P platers get a OT nomination this week for thinking they are bullet proof.

And the final OT of the week (this is something that annoys the crap out of me)  is a shared award to all those former political leaders such as Al Gore, Tony Blair and Bill Clinton. That did lacked political will do anything while in power (BAD) but are more than happy to use their public status to encourage people that more must be done (GOOD).

Have a great weekend

cheers

Friday F*wit

Well its that time of the week again, when some lucky people get nominated for my Friday F#wit award. This week  the list of nominees isn't that big because I haven't been paying to much attention to the news (its good for the sanity). I did however manage to see the budget 08 o Tuesday night all in all i thought it reasonable I suppose (maths has never been my strong point or economics). This being said the federal labour government still receive a nomination this week for a number of their budget outcomes starting with the increase in the baby bonus increased to $5000 its a very stupid idea paying people to have kids. But my main gripe against the 08  budget and labour government is the outlay they have provided help our coal energy sector to clean up their act (as if they cant afford it themselves) at the expense of renewables... For that they earn a FF nomination...
Cant think of anymore FF nominations for this week, although the Generals in Burma can earn another nomination this week for being very slow to help their own people.
But this week Friday F#wit award goes to (insert drum roll) Andrew Bolt of the Herald Sun Newspaper. I haven't looked at the paper this week but I just know that he would have be spouting a whole piled of crap as usual (yeap, just a quick check of the website proves my theory correct, he's going on about the evil religious zealots that don't bow down and pray to the all seeing, the all knowing, the almighty altar of Holy Bolta)...

Have a great weekend...

cheers
